My '85 doesn't have them and I'm glad. I was surprised when I started reading this thread last week. So did they just remove them for '85-'86 US(and some earlier Euros) and then put them back in in '87?

I have 1 on the passenger side of the 78' ,the drivers side broke and when the replacement did not have it.
