Default In London, a pint anyone?

I'm free in London on Saturday before I finally get to go home early sunday morning, after three months away. If anyone want to stop by, I'll buy a pint (or two ) You can PM me with a time and I'll give you my hotel address, just off Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. It's not fancy, but there are pubs nearby.

If you do, I understand from Andrew Olson that I will have to take a picture of your car. If everyone is too busy for such short notice, happy "Porsching to you all" (I'm positive "Porsche" can be used as a verb)

Hi Rod,

I won't be in London this Sat for a meet but you should know that it's the day of the monthly Porsche Breakfast at the Ace Cafe. The Ace is a famous old bikers/rock & roll diner that's been recently re-opened and has become a real focus for auto enthusiasts.

Starts at 9am and details of how to get there on their website, but IIRC nearest tube would be Hanger Lane (Central Line, about 30 minutes from your hotel) or Stonebridge Park rail. Usually dozens of Porsches turn up but alas only 1 or 2 928s (I plan to get to next month's meeting).

The breakfasts are good as well!

Enjoy remainder of your stay here.

No, I've been all over the world. I just got here the day before yesterday and Saturday is my first actual "free" time.

I'm sorry I can't meet you in person, I actually considered a burnt orange for my 82, after seeing yours, but finally decided to go with the Porsche Moss Green with a touch more metallic.

Thanks for responding.

Thanks,

I may try that, at this point, it's likely that everyone has other plans.

Hi Rod

Let me know if you want to go to the Ace Cafe on Saturday morning. I can pick you up from any West London tube (Hanger Lane would be easiest), the earlier the better.

Cheers - Paul

Paul,

That would be terrific. I had better make a final decision tomorrow afternoon when I get back from Bath based on if anyone else wants to take me up on my drink offer.

Tentatively, if I can, what time do you want me to be at Hanger Lane? I guess it will take me about 30min. on the Tube to get there.

I'll check Rennlist and let you know as soon as I get back, if that's okay.

I'll be at the Ace on Saturday too - come over and say Hi! I have the white/blue S4 with a newly fitted RMB and flat dish wheels. I hope to have the wife and kids with me too - I'd love them to see how great a global community we 928'ers have.

You too Paul - I keep missing you!

The weather should be beautiful too. You're welcome to come back to my place for a beer after as I only live a mile or two away.

Ian,
It sounds like this might be the best option to see some local 928's and their owners. Unless something happens, I guess that's what I'll do.

Thanks
Rod

Paul, it looks like you have a passenger. What time would you like for me to be at Hanger Lane?

Due to new job & now not working weekends I will be able to attend the Ace meeting for the first time & it would be great to meet you, sadly I wont be my 928 as the front end noise I 'fixed' is still there
Paul , I'll probably be going on to Mac's after the Ace to work on his 928 as I never made it last Sun. if you've nothing better to do ...........

It looks like a plan is forming. I'll bring my cameras, so Andrew won't get upset.

Thanks

I'll do my best to make it. It will be an excuse to drive again.

Can you send me the directions?

Thanks,
Rod
