How to put back ABS after S4 brake upgrade on o.b.
When I did the brake upgrade on my buddy's '85 euro, we couldn't mount the abs sensor in the pre-"S" spindles, so no more abs.
Can we just weld on a boss to accept the abs sensor in a good location? Somebody suggested drilling out a hole for it, but I don't want to weaken the spindles of course.
Anyone kept their ABS???
TIA

There are a couple options, none cheap.
1) Get an S4 suspension, and do what I am doing which is to make a toothed ring to work with the S4 hub (45 teeth vs 90 I think).
2) Put the 85 spindle back on and talk to SVP928 about getting a bracket made to work with the Big brakes.
3) Pray you won't need ABS?
I don't like welding on something like that.

Put the toothed rings and reference sensors inboard, on the output flange or inner CV joint body?
