I don't even bother with ramps anymore! The lift bars are by far one of the greatest "inventions" out there. BTW, Ken do you know if there are any other similar devices out there? If not, you might consider getting a patent and licenseing the manufacture of these things for other vehicles.

Ken,
I'm in. Ordered a set for my '79. Just let me know when you need the shipping.
I was thinking of making a set for myself, but lemesee. First try, complete redo plus maybe damage to the car. Second try better, but car falls off the bars. Third try, they work, but like ****. Fourth try,......SCREW IT! Just order some from Ken.
Two bills is a steal.
Thanks!

Wow! It's the revenge of the OB's!
I have a couple of dents in the floor boards of my '81 from when I was testing the first designs. The early round jack pads required a lot of thought to make bars that were stable when lifting and lowering. Lowering turned out to be the most problematic, as the bars want to rotate as the jack is pushed backward on it's wheels.

Ken,
Looks like maybe you need a distribution department. Maybe one of the 'Big three' wants to start distributing for you like they do for the Kempf tool. I gotta say, I have to plan on two hours of jacking and leveling when my car has to be up on 4 stands. This looks like a much better way.
I wish I had a few extra bills right now. I just cooked my pilot bearing last week so I'm in for a new clutch package right now, car goes back up on the stands tonight to assess the damage...

Ken,
I have one of those SUV jacks. I rarely use it because I have an old fairly beefy floor jack that is like the one in your picture. But it has become a little sketchy in operation (time for a new one). How big does the jack need to be to use your bars? Would one of those affordable (cheap) large floor jacks from somewhere like Advance Auto work. I think they are around 1500 or 2k lb jacks or something?
Id like to get another large floor jack but space is tight as it is!!

John,
It's better to have a larger jack with a wide footprint. If your driveway/garage is nice and flat, a 2000lb jack will work. Make sure it's centered for weight balance - which may not be in the exact center of the bar, depending on what you have in the car. If you get a small one, get steel, as the small aluminum one I bought at Harbor Fright is getting really loose at the joints, and is starting to lean!

Anyone else?
I'm going to be shipping out the current orders this week.
My tensioner project is burning cash because of all the prototype and tool costs, and the LiftBars have been the primary source of funding for that. The actual price of the PKsn'rs will never cover the development cost!
(Buy some 32V'rs too! )

Now that I have sucked up enough, when will the first people who ordered the tensioners have them? Before the end of may?

That's what I'm doing, in effect. Spreading the costs around. It's a good thing that I enjoy doing it as a hobby, because selling these gizmos at the prices I'm comfortable with, doesn't make any kind of business sense.
I should have the new PKsn'r brackets back by the end of the week. Then another week for assembly, machining, and plating. So, yes... probably.

The lift bars are money well-spent, period, and especially so if you do a lot of wrenching on your car!

I know that Ken has some great 928 inventions, the liftbar being one, but the 32Ver is my favorite at this point. However, the auto tensioner has to be groundbreaking for this car. An idea that should have been produced no later than 1992 by Porsche since the 968 had it.

Harv,
Check the box. I sent you an alignment tool (marked V1 ), and updated manual for your V1. Everything included the 'upgrade', except the jewel box.
