A$$ finally done - with no instructions!
After much deliberation, I decided to go with some black lettering on the back end of our newly-restored shark. Thanks to Nicole, I must say I'm delighted with the results. The a$$-ends of these cars are truly beautiful, and the black really stands out nicely.
So too, this was one of those rare projects for me that I completed without incident. Below are the before and after shots. In the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit that I think I put the H on upside down.

It's spelled umlaut, and it's a small furry quadriped found in northern Europe. The only part of the animal that's usually visible are the eyes. Its favorite habitat is lurking over germanic vowels.
