Default Cassirot 87 S4 is no more - RIP

I am sure some of you remember this car that was given to the daughter of my business partner.
We all predicted the outcome and sure as eggs is eggs it happened.
She is fine but the car is a total loss.
Hit from the side at the front - the bumper bar is flat and cracked.
Engine runs fine and she is still drivable - just.
She will now live on in other cars.

Rog, I hope that's not your only 928. I'm sorry man. That was one beautiful car you had there.

I know how you feel all too well man... Good luck to you...

that sux! I'm glad everyone was OK.

Weren't you at SITM last year? I remember seeing a young girl driving a Cassirot 87. If so, we actually pulled up next to you if in fact you were the same person.

So what are you going to do with car now?

This was one of my many cars that was purchased for the daughter of my business partner.
I was at SITM but in my Black GTS.
Do not tell anyone about the young girl you saw as I am trying to keep it a secret.

Glad She's alright. I know exactly how it feels. My 86.5 looked like that just two weeks after I bought it, got hit. I've been rebuilding it since last July. Maybe I'll post some before and after pics. in the near future.

Rog,
sorry to hear about such tragedy. But luckily she was all right. In the end only that counts. Cars can be replaced....

First and foremost - Im glad to hear she is OK.

Looks like the S4 can be rebuilt, unless there's structual damage on the chasis.

What plans do they have for the car? Any parts to be had (sorry - but you knew this questions would eventually be asked) If so - I would be interested in the rear wing.

Never the less - Im glad to hear it was just the car who suffered.

Painful to see such a unique car destroyed.

Roger will be parting out that car and it is obvious that the "frame" is bent...

Oh my... glad she's OK. Are you going to reveal what happened?

This reminds me of something Lucky Ekman - one of the founders of DEVEK - once told us: He bought his children 928s because he was sure that some time they'd try to push their car to the limit - and he at least wanted them to do it in a car he considered very safe.

AFAIK they still live...

By the greatest of strong will, I am avoiding serious cuss words at seeing this. It's the semi-dream car I wanted, and was featured in my post on 'perfect build sheet'(although an auto with rub strips). Just the same, I would be most interested in the rebuild project, but it does look much too far gone, even for the true DIY enthusiast.

I considered taking it to a frame shop and seeing what it would cost to set the chassis right, but even that undertaking would leave one with weeks of tweaking, panel R&R, trim fitting, and the final result might be less than desirable. So, glad that the humans are okay, and very sad that this once beautiful car(I saw it pre-crush) are to be broken up into little doner bits to keep the rest of the fleet running.

She was driving out into road from behind a parked van and was side swiped by an SUV.
Or something close to that.

The car will be parted out - burgundy interior - heated seats IIRC.
Wheels and engine are already spoken for.

Insurance settlement was about $14k
