I got mine from fellow Rennlister Roger Tyson. I'm very satisfied and only paid thirty something dollars for both with the correct nuts.

I am sure he will reply to this thread, but you could private message or email him through Rennlist. He also has a phone number on his website seen in Pizza's link above.

What ever did people do before forums like this and the web?
Thanks for the help,

Nick is in South Africa and has been told by his Porsche dealer that he needs new MM's.
Not suprising in itself.
However he wanted them like yesterday because he is about to embark on a round trip of 2000KM (1200miles) and wants to change out the MM's before he goes - hence the rush.
He feels a slight vibration at a certain rev range which is common with failed MM's.
I advised him that he need not rush to change out the MM's and a few weeks or a 1000 miles would make no difference.
I know I have driven cars with collapsed MM's with no problem.
What is the consensus of the group on this subject - comments welcome.
Thanks,
Roger

Considering the age of the factory MM's, I am sure many people are driving around with bad MM's. I have bad mounts and I am using the Jager speedmount until I can change them.

Besides the vibration, he needs to rev the car in neutral and see if the engine moves? If it moves the mounts are doing what they are suppose to, if they are not then they are shot.
I would not consider it a priority to have it changed ASAP.
Nick, unless the engine pan is bone dry you may want to consider putting a new pan gasket while replacing the MM.

I would guess that at any given moment there are more 928s running around with bad mounts than good mounts. I assume one could run forever with collapsed mounts. Having said that, there are issues created by bad mounts, such as engine vibrations. I also wonder about the eventual effect on things like shifter ball cups and torque tube bearings etc..
