Default Should flywheel "inspection hole" be covered on 4.5 engine?

Was under the car and noticed that there's nothing covering the flywheel start ring gear teeth on the bottom of the engine (4.5). Is there a plate that is supposed to cover that?

The lower bell housing cover should cover the ring gear.

He's talking about the inspection hole.

Neither of mine are plugged with anything.

HP,

Yes, the inspection hole is what I'm talking about, thanks. Seems weird it's exposed.

The factory put a plug there, along the line most of them are lost.

I'd be $100 in the hole replacing those things by now

Nice to see a Porsche OEM part under $5, not very many of those.
