My car has 17" wheels with 245's on the back and there is plenty of space to fit the stick through. I'm not sure how close it would be with something like an 18" and 295's though.

GREAT. I too have a hand pump, but like this MUCH better. Gonna make one next time this needs to be done.
I made up an electric pump system for filling the AT. IF there is interest, I'll post pictures of that.

No, but a $20CAD pressure garden sprayer works great. Remove the atomizer from the end and pour 3 or 4 litres in and then pump it up. The small hose size allows just enough flow so that it does not overfill the strainer and you can reach it without lifting the vehicle. The only hard part would be removing and replacing the filler lid.

I like the garden sprayer idea. Pump as much pressure as needed to get the job done.
No electric pumps to cycle on and off as it nears full.

Wonder what them factory trained master techs think of them yahoo 'Muricans filling their tranny with a garden sprayer and bits of PVC hose.

Great idea guys.
Mebbe it's time to refresh the couple year old Redline in the poor tranny.
Just not looking forward to seeing any chunks of metal bits coming out the tranny drain.

They are probably asking why we don't use the HP fill port connector that they included for initial fill. ATF is so sensitive to particle contamination that it really needs to at least run through a screen filter on the way in. The HP fill port doesn't look like it goes directly to the sump, where you would expect the internal filter to pick out the rocks, so I still fill through the reservoir cap.

The PVC setup looks like something that needs to be in a regional arsenal of handy tools. I don't know how often you guys change your diff fluid. I do it with ATF changes at 25-30k intervals, or every three to four years between changes. Should I be doing it more often?

And last but not least-- Does the gear oil or ATF leach anything out of the PVC? After three uses, will I be able to roll up that pipe and store it in a drawer? The clear vinyl hose I use turns brown and hardens after exposure to ATF, so something is happening there.
