But I sure would love to let a shark lose on an unlimited
stretch of Autobahn. Unfortunately, there is no such thing in the
vincity of the event.
Stuttgart to Singen is still unlimited; at least it was in February.
I was in the middle of the TB & WP change so I was in the Mustang. I lost my nerve at 120mph... I think it is called a Mustang because it bucks at high speed..

Haha...

Unfortunately we won't have time to drive out far enough to hit unlimited stretches. We'd have to go way past Böblingen/Sindelfingen to have some fun...

Default COME ON, NICOLE!!!

Where's your sense of adventure?
We could 'split it' -- I'll handle the wheel and you handle the pedals!

That is. . . if I can make the event. . . still trying, trying!

LOL! I'm not sure Schocki would go for that... Not sure I would, either. I kind of like to live, you know!

There will be other opportunities to have fun. Actually, I"ll be very busy having fun while I'm there...

Why Not?
120 mph is a very nice travel speed, on the autobahn if traffic allows..

I wasn't really talking about the speed, but about "splitting it" at any speed...

I wish we here in America (which we claim is the land of the free, and the home of the brave), would realize what we are denying ourselves by condoning assinine speed limits on vast stretches of open beautiful highways all across this land of ours. Free air for as far as the eye can see and then some........while sitting at the controls of a machine as capable as a Porsche 928..............hmmmm, what's wrong with this picture..................

Ron... there's (some) hope...

in west TX the speed is posted at 80, on I-10. There and on I-40, in
places (NM), traffic flow is ~90.

Almost triple digits.

G'luck.

Whoa - that's break neck speeds! I'm sure people get slaughtered there all day long, right? They must be. Because speed kills.

Does it, really? Well, apparently everywhere by tthe Autobahn, which has an extremely good saftety track record with steadily declining accident and death rates. It proves there is another way. But it's not the American way. And potentially it will no longer be the German way soon. More than half of the population there is in favor of speed liits now; partially because of CO2 emissions concerns, and partially because there are too many aggressive drivers scaring them.

The end is near. Sadly.

Not if I have anything to say about it. The autobahn statistics for deaths and accidents is close to ours, but we have limits and they don't? Go figure.
We will simply have to adopt a rational attitude here by transfer of the German attitude to America. We are working on this right now. And Nicole knows of what I am speaking.

Yes, it is 115 miles door to door; enjoy it while you can.

If speed kills & you believe the statistic that is often quoted (an extra 5mph doubles chance of fatal accident) then the F1 drivers would all be dead before the end of the first lap.
And there is the fine example of Montana where they briefly did away with speed limits altogther and the death rate fell; there were then some papers published after the fact by people who had complicated theories that "proved" speed was still dangerous even though the results were different.

Not sure yet if i will have a spare seat.
