Correct the ball on the torque tube is welded on.

I used 928 116 145 03 (the clutch release arm bushing) in lieu of the $80 angular joint on my GT about a year or so ago.

It fits fine with no slop and no detectable wear yet. Fitting is relatively easy but you do need to ensure that the bushing gets pressed in under the lip of the socket to make it captive else it can just fall apart by itself.

As access is easy on the GT - no exhausts to remove just heat shields - I'm happy to replace more frequently and save the $80 for something more important.
