seems like a high starting bid for a car with 155k miles. I think they'd get a better feel for the ebay market with a nominal starting price. The could always make the reserve 5k, but this way they'd know what they could get, not just what they couldn't get

Well, I was wrong - it did not sell. Someone missed an interesting, unique manual "S".
I wonder, if it would be better to end the biddiing on a Friday or Sunday night. Anybody have any such knowledge or experience?
Note that it has a rebuilt engine.
Great idea - but IIRC he said he only wanted to spend a thousand bucks or so...

I always have mine end at noon or 1 pm pacific time, although really the vast majority of the bikes I sell on eBay do so with the "buy it now" feature.
The bottom line is if the vehicle is accurately described and fairly priced it will sell. My guess is this seller is talking to some of the auction watchers who did not bid but were interested. One of them will probably bust a move.
At 5g's how can you not pull the trigger? I've spent more than that on just tune-up and maintenence parts the last couple months resurrecting my '91.
