Passenger electric seat stuck!

Use a car battery with a set of large alligator clips. A large gauge wire like a lamp cord will work using the alligator clips on the battery post helps. Connect to the main wire feed of the seats works for me every time. I have two seats out of an 85-Euro that everything works but coverings are shot not sure if the mechanism is the same if you run into trouble.

My passenger front seat gets stuck, whence fully backed up. Pushing on it and jiggleing it a bit while pushing the appropriate switch fixes it, BUT, I really want to repair whatever's causing it.
I thought I'd add a fire extinguisher mount whenever I get to it.
My 89S4 is a "California Car", so it's seat heater switch cutouts are blanked over. I'd really like to add this feature to both seats. Anyone ever take that on? I assume all I'd need would be the seat warming elements and the switches. I'm not sure if the wires are in place already.
Saab, at least, in the past looked at seat heaters as a safety item, as well as luxury. They reasoned that a cold driver is slower to respond. I'm in Northern Pennsyltucky and drive the car year round, so I'd love to add it...

Aligning the Seat
When I reinstall the driver seat, how do I make sure that the seat tracks are aligned correctly?
When I got my 1990 GT back form the body shop from a repaint the drivers seat was jammed. I could move it up and down, etc, but not forward to back. I tried to use the manual drive but the plastic gear shattered. Once I removed the drive cable from the motor, I was able to manually move the seat forward and back. I think that the seat was at an angle which is why the motor struggled to move it forward to back. Since I had to use the manual approach to move the seat back to undo the bolts, the seat tracks are no longer aligned.
When I reinstall the seats how to I make sure that the left and right tracks are correctly aligned so that the seat slides forward easily?
Thanks
