Man enters bar. Approaches tart sitting at said bar.
"Excuse me, miss. But can I have your pantyhose to fix my loose shifter cup on my 9-2-8."
New front shifter cup went in about 2-3 years back. It was the white plastic one.
The old one had a sliver of plastic rattling around the inside of the metal cup.

Ernest it is all how you say it ! ....Miss my ball cup socket popped of my shift rod and I have too much play could I borrow your panty hose to hold the cup on my ball.... Yea , that should work...

Well I've decided to go the "Macgyver" route to eliminate the slop. I will post photos if any one wants to see my modifications. Jim, now you can bust my chops for non Porsche approved modifications.

Right- I installed a new cup, which had to be forcibly pressed onto the ball- then a 6" hose clamp loosely around the shaft @ the "flat-spot" - It's Money...
