Ditto, but my wife is 2.5 years older than me ... and I think it is a female thing unless your name is Nicole!

I put the fitting in a vise & used a screwdriver to peel off the banding, then plyers to take it the rest of the way. The banding does nothing, you can spin it around on the hose if you try. I did that on mine & the new hose works perfectly. For about $8 instead of almost $70 for a hydraulic shop to make me up a new one! Did both my rear hoses for a bit over $16! No one will see it anyways, though it looks just fine too.

Those seat covers ROCK btw! Glad I'm not bidding on them. I've told my wife I'd love to have an OB with an interior like Chuck Z's Kermit. My wife just doesn't get that! Oh well, she IS 3 years younger than me, guess that was before her time!

I wonder if they can re-create the pasha pattern in leather as well?

Hard to tell. From the picture it looks like they are not individual black/white patches. Paul Champagne had figured to make true Pascha out of leather you'd need to do put it together with individual pieces.

I couldn't find something that explicity says what material the checker part is, but seats are made from "high quality leather and vinyl," so the checker part might be vinyl.

This auction is goint to be brutal!

Has anyone had a chance to get "eyes on", or does it really matter?

Without Snipe bidding software, you can go in at the last seconds of an auction and almost always lose the bid if someone else does use it. Snipe software has many names and versions and approaches but it allows you to put in a maximum amount you'll pay...then in the last milliseconds of an auction, it usually will beat out bidders using regular Internet links to bid. Don't know how they do it but if you've ever been beat out at the last moment....and can't believe you got ambushed, it likely was special bidding software. EBay has something similar but it's not as good nor fast, but highest dollar usually gets it. But you do need to post the max you'll bid ahead of time. The best time to bid is in the last moments of auction. I don't know what happens when two people are using the same kind of bidding software and have the same maximums.

Serious and frequent bidders seldom miss if they really want something. I learned the hard way.

How badly do I want these covers? You'll see.

I don't think any of us could afford to have leather pieces pieced together in this complex pattern. What a nightmare!

Just getting these covers for the PATTERN is probably worth more than the current high bid. If one were to go into business making such covers, this would be the case I'd think.

Also, who owns the copyright on the pattern? It's not like you can just copy anything you want. Buying original, no question.

No need to piece anything together harv, originals are one-piece and so can leather be.

They don't have the front seats. I contacted them on the first day the link was posted.

Actually, the auction will not be brutal if intererest were to wane and everyone were to back off, leaving only one bidder. I'm not suggesting that's a possibility here since there seems to be considerable interest and most bids hit in the absolute last seconds of the auction. I just pick my highest bid ahead of time and put it out there (the later the better)...may the person who wants an item the most win. I hate it when I WISH afterwards I'd bid higher. I did that last week and still regret it. Then again, I really hate it when something I buy is misrepresented. Like the POS fuel hose I bought not long ago from a Rennlister. Unless it's a high ticket item, in those cases , I figure it's not worth the hassle to cry foul. I just never buy from them again. If they irritate enough people that way, I figure that it eventually affects their business. It pays to be an honest business person. Eventually it catches up w/people.

Yes, some things are so ugly that they're beautiful. These are art pieces. Also, out of 100 people passing your car...how many are going to comment on thesr seats?

A few more hours and we'll know who gets these pascha covers. Hope they clean up nice. One of the newer dry cleaners should be able to do this with less harsh chemicals? May the most interested bidder win!

You'd want to be careful though. Some cleaners only "think" they can do a good job. And some chemicals could ruin these. Go with caution. An antique car restorer may have the latest info on this kind of thing.

It's possible to get this material made in cloth, leather or whatever one desires. Since the cost is substantial for a small quantity, the issue is deciding the process and type of material that will be suitable and provide an acceptable ROI.
If I remember correctly the figures I came up with were between 3-18K depending on the process. The cheapest was digital printing, but I couldn't pin down whether or not it would hold up as seat cover material.
