There are NO FACTORY CHROME WHEELS only aftermarket chromed often done by dealers as an add on BUT NEVER FACTORY. In fact Porsche has a tech sheet which advises not to chrome plate the rims because it MAY weaken them ...

If you can see the tools you have bigger issues than what your exhaust tips look like ! The inside of the headlights are silver ....

No this is not normal, I had a few vetts... 87, 87, and 80 MY. the ride does not even compair. the vett is like driving a brick down the street, even with the non Z suspention. the 928 is a much softer feel.

shocks and struts

that's what I figured; just put in new springs and shocks (monroe sensitrack) in the vette, and it drive infinitely better, and handles kirby road in houston which has alot of bumps, much better than the 928. so does my old 308 GT4.

So I figured that can't be right. that plus the fact that I could depress the front and rear down at least 3 inches without too much effort, and a grinding noise with a full deflection right turn, suggested that shocks would be the place to start.

it's an expensive empiric diagnostic procedure (500 just for the parts and probably a couple hundred for the labor), but I'm going to try to get the car running as it should. It's not that far from it, but the ride is a biggie.
I'm hoping that after the shocks, power steering hose, new front tires, allignment and rmb, I should be where I want it (might also do alittle seat crack repair also).

btw my local guy runs a meineke shop so they know exhaust pretty well. he doen't think that cross or x pipers should affect the sound that much. common wisdom here is that it does, and with rmb, makes it way too loud. Probably just not that knowledgable about this particular application.

Maybe some bonehead pumped the tires up to the pressure recommended by Porsche...

Try going with 32psi cold and see if that helps any. Correct tire pressure is a hotly debated topic at times, but ultimately it varies with tire/rim/car/driving habits and truly optimal tire pressure can only be determined by experimentation(chalk line, tire temps, etc.)

wow, that I could have tried for free. But I've already paid for the shocks and they should be in in a couple hours. so I'll see. have new front tires coming also which will go in over the weekend. I guess I'll start with 32 psi or 36?
