It's not rock green - that would be the literal translation. But the official name in English was granite green.

I love that color and miss it. I'll be back soon with a guard's red '91 S4 but here was the ad (that is surprisingly still up) from the car I used to have in that same color:

The car was rough but the color was amazing in person. Here are a ton of pics:

Three more pics of Samantha's former S4, when George V owned it last year. These are pics when they had it at my house last May. He then sold it to one of his customers after owning it less than a year. Course, the Kinesis K28s that Samantha had on it went on her GTS when she bought it & she put the GTS wheels on the S4.

Beautiful color. There is one for sale on autotrader. I just got back an email from the seller stating there are no other pictures available after I requested pictures of the interior, exterior and motor. Huge red flag....

Perfect opportunity for my first post - here are a couple of pics of my 1988 Felsengruen. I've had her for nearly 3 years now and just hit 87k on the odo. I absolutely love this color. I think Felsengruen was only available in '87-'88. Any idea on how many where produced/still around?

Gio, it's funny you should ask this question...
I've been trying to ID this color for 3 or 4 years now.
Several years ago, I attended a PCA event here in the Nashville area at the summer home of one of our members.
A single blonde lady happened to show up in a beautiful 80's-era Porsche 911 in this most awesome grey'ish color with a component of green in it. It's like a smokey silver on steroids with a faint touch of green in the background.
The blonde lady was nice, but IMO, her car was even nicer. So, naturally, I asked her if she could tell me the name of the color of her car. She said it was called Pewter. She said it was called Gunmetal Grey. I don't think she was really sure, even though these are both close approximations.
Anyway, her car's cool color really left an impression on me, and for the last 3 or 4 years, I have been trying to identify it.
With the help of the 928 forum, I believe I have finally found it. Granite Green looks like a dead ringer for her car, and the time frame is 'spot on', mid to late 80's.
928'ers with Granite Green Metallic, your cars rule!
What a totally *awesomely* beautiful color you have!
Best regards,
