I am, and have been for 3 years. It was the best deal going when I bought it, and
I still would recommend it to anyone who asked. Tim is a great guy and stands by
his product. I look forward to Tim's new developments...

I'm in the middle of fitting a murf stage 2/3 onto my GT, my car was in good order to start with but i thought what the heck and i'm replacing anything i feel needs attention knocks sensors wot switch bosch connectors etc etc, plus fuel pipes all over the car and so on.

These kits are very well made and come in a huge box which is great fun unpacking.

I am also running the Murf kit with intercooler. Installed early 2004 , and running great with zero problems, while producing over 400 rwhp ! ! ! Tim is "The Man", great guy who provides excellent support.

This is an old thread but one for the Murph SC and I was just wondering if others have tried this (Murph?) ?

Is the intake Flappy needed on a Murph stage III ?
Can it just be fixed in an open position ? I would not think it stays closed for very long or is it needed for idle?

Thanks,

Dave K

There are a lot of murph kits on the roads now days. I'm working on one now, and the flappy has been removed. Let me tell ya, the car is a beast.

Thanks Sean, I was thinking with all that boost, what's the point, right?

I'm working on Brian's right now, hoping to have the rod bearings in Tuesday night w/ the help of another 828 club member/friend who built a lot of race engines, and if it was something to consider now is the time before the intake goes back on.

I was thinking it would work/flow better if open or like you said better yet removed.

Thanks again !

The flappy will have the same effect, both top and bottom end.

I personally removed the butterfly plate out of my intake.

I'm sitting in Tim Murphy's garage with Mike Schmidt (Z), Andrew Olson, and Turbo Todd.
I read them the flappy discussion going on in this thread.

Tim asked me to post on behalf of him, with regards to removing it: "Why?"

In other words, it's your car, do what you want. But he has no intentions of removing it from either of his cars and Mike Schmidt is nodding his head in agreement

Todd's busy making a custom camshaft out of a paperclip and a stick of bubblegum.

I'm not sure what Andrew is doing with that hose clamp and I'm not going to ask.
