Question One Way insert

85' 32V US Auto

I’ve got two questions in this one. In disassembling the 928 engine I forgot to note where these go .

The first is this one way insert (it fell out on disassembly and I didn’t see where it came from):

It either goes in the top (to throttle housing) or bottom (to valve cover) connection on the Oil Filler Neck:

The second question is where would I put the following connections on the injection wiring harness. I believe they are ground connections:

This one is earlier on the harness

I have the workshop manuals but have not been able to hunt down this info.

Im sure they arent for the coils. They go somewhere near the fuel rails it seems or maybe even on them towards the rear top part of the engine. Is there supposed to be a ground connection on the fuel rails? Ive been trying to find good pics of a fuel injector replacement procedure or even just some high resolution/quality pictures involving the top rear of the engine with the intake manifold off so I can spot the connection.

The rear-most port on the filler neck get's attached to the airguide/t-body via a short s-shaped hose.
The front-most port on the filler neck get's attached to a longer hose to the front-most elbow on the cam cover.
They are ground wires for the LH harness. They should be attached via two 13mm (head size IIRC) bolts to the block - in the valley at the very back under all the fuel damper/hoses - one on the left side, one on the right side.

I might be able to get a picture of the grounds as-installed later tonight or tomorrow.

Alright I assume you mean these bolts (but they are 10mm ). Thank you so much for that.

Now I knew where the hoses for the Oil Filler Neck go. My question was which one holds the little black piece in the first picture of my original post.

Like I wrote: IIRC. But, if the bolt fits the terminal hole...

Dunno. I've only taken apart two pre-S4s. One had the plastic insert. The other did not. I don't remember in which port it went. Sorry.

Hmmm Im trying to think which one would make sense to have air escape the filler neck and nothing to return back in thru it since thats what the piece does. I wonder if its even that necessary.

It goes in the rear most port, closest to the throttle body. At least that's where I found mine when I took the hoses off recently.
