So the squirters are just small holes drilled into the crank? It's hard to tell from the pic.

View from below isn't much more interesting. There is oil channel above upper main bearings and simple hole drilled to where there is small black dot in block in Adam's picture, not in crank. Small valve has been inserted into this hole from below. There isn't much to see in entire system.

That's it. One per cylider. They share a common passageway to the main bearing journals. The journals have oil ports which are closed off by a small valve, it may even be just a ball bearing, which seals close due to spring pressure. When the oil pressure in the mains get high enough to overpower the spring (4 bar), the valve/ball bearing collapses the supporting spring and oil rushes into the port, through the passageways in the block, and out the orifices. In theory anyway.

Although I haven't looked for myself, I've been told that I have a squirter under my hood. I did have to put rod bearings on the car with only 75k on the odometer, but I'm chalking that up to someone using an oil additive that was built up in the bottom of my pan. My serial number on the car is #125 and a build of June 1986. I can't remember what my engine vin was.

I am going to go ahead and close this thread. I found a much more detailed piston squirter thread that already has a wealth of knowlege here. Please add all new info to that thread so that we don't confuse the future generations.
