Default 93 GTS: sport seats, 5-speed, no rear AC....

bad part is it appears to be a theft recovery according to Carfax. I'm sure there is a story with this one but it sure has great features.....

Looks great in the pics, especially for 150+k miles. Great color combo too, Polar Silver with Linen & Grey interior is pretty stunning. Shame its got the theft recovery issue. Will be interesting to see what it sells for. Thanks Chuck!

Nice! I dont think theft recovery would stop me from getting such a car. It looks in great shape. For all we know the owner could have left the keys in the car with doors unlocked and someone drove away...then the car is later recovered and a report filed?

As a Canadian car, can that come into the US though?

that is ture. it doesn't show a salvage title. here is the Carfax entry:

Vehicle recovered after theft
Please contact IBC Investigative Services for further information by calling 1-866-457-5719 or by completing the IBC web form.

I'm sure you can, it would have to go through all the DOT/EPA stuff which I think can be kind of expensive? I'm sure others know more specifics than I.

They have it as kilometers, so not that used. I like the silver on the gts also.

My S4 was stolen and missing around 10 years in Canada according to Carfax. When I contacted the IBC like Chuck mentioned above the only thing they gave me was the date it was reported stolen and the date is was recovered.

from 1989 on you can flip the dash readout from kms to miles by flicking the stalk.

I'm getting used to the km speedo and the celcius temp readings

I have personally seen this car on a number of occasions and it looks great although a proper PPI will be needed.

There was a big deal made by PCA members years ago about a grey GTS being wrecked, back in the late 90s I believe, damage wasn't disastrous but values had reached an all-time low at the time and the car was written off and fixed. There are so few GTS 928s in Canada, even fewer with a 5-speed capable of running PCA events, that this could very well be it. If so, no record of the damage would show anywhere. Bottom line, a great car but a body specialist should check it out.

Seems like the car is being serviced at Ferrari Quebec, mechanics there are top-notch.

Yes the car can be imported into the US, it's been done on numerous occasions, you may want to check with Raj (968TurboS), I believe he's imported a 968 from Toronto.

Regards,
Chris

I guess the Canadian cars could be ordered without rear A/C? I thought all the US GTS's came with the rear A/C standard?

Duh! I never noticed the different seats in the 928. I have a 93 and my seatbacks flare wide around the midsection like the ones shown in the above photo. Is this the characteristic that distinguishes the sport seat from others. I did a search and nothing came up. Can someone tell me, how many seats were available on the GTS? Are any preferred over others?

Seems to be some what common, my 90GT was a Canadian car and it came just like this one. No rear A/C, and Sport Seats with Factory Seat heaters.

Two styles of seats were available on the 928. The "sport" seat like pictured above and the standard seat with much smaller side bolsters. Most of the sport seats I have seen only have power adjustments for the height. Standard seats have back and forth as well as seat back adjustments. I will dig up some pics of both type seats and post them.
