Andrew, I cannot get your tool to work. I would like to try it. Any suggestions. I keep getting a message when I try to click "I Agree" that says that your macros are unverified. What does this mean? Thanks

You're macro protection in Excel is probably set to "high". If you go to Tools -> Options, then click on the security tab, you'll see a button at the bottom called "Macro Security." Set this to meduim and all should be good. HTH.

If these were wider in the back, I would try a set on the 81:

These are a better fit for the front of the 928 - 57mmET is nearly the same as CS wheels 60mmET.

Yes in deed it is cool. I've decided that I have a few more tire options and I don't have to change my wheels. I got a lot of static about the 265/35xZR18's I currently have on the rear of my Shark for not being "bigger".

Using the caculator - I'm thinking about some 275/30's or 285/30's to fill those 18x10" wheels allot better.

Rears also had a 17mm spacer

The wheels on ebay offer :
fronts 18 x 8 with 50mm offset
rears 18 x 10 with 47mm or option for 65mm.

Does this mean if I get the 47mm offset for the rears, I won't need the spacers I have now? The current wheels with spacer fit perfectly, just inside the fender lip with no rubbing.
With the different size fronts, going from 9" to 8", but the offset changing just slightly, what is that going to do? Since the new front wheels are more narrow, would that just mean that the outside edge of the wheels/ tires will be a little more narrow or further inside the fender?

Yes, you can use 47mm offsset without your 17mm spacer and would end up pretty much the same as your current setup.

The front will stay about the same as you have now.

Tommy928 - thanks for the information.

I was wondering if most of the newer 911 wheels were using larger offsets on the rear, therefore requiring the use of spacers on the older Porsches???

Tim Murphy is running 11x18 Carrera III wheels with et45 on the rear. They are damn close in the rear, almost too close, but they look awesome!

Just to make sure i have this right, a 18 x 10 rear rim with a 65mm offset and a 17mm spacer, would fit about the same as a 18 x 10 with a 47mm offset without the spacer.

Using the spacer is like taking away some of the offset???...this is the part that starts to confuse me.

My old wheels 18 x 10, with the 65mm offset, and the 17mm spacer (or very close to that) were very close to the inside edge of my rear fenders. I liked the way they fit, no rubbing, but filled it up nicely.

In theory adding a 17mm spacer to a wheel with an offset of 65 makes it a wheel with an offset of 48. The downside to using a spacer is stud length. You are taking away 17mm of threads you would otherwise be using to hold on the wheel. Since these cars are designed to use a spacer from the factory (at least the early cars were) shouldn't be an issue.

If it worked before, shouldn't be any different with these wheels.

Are you using a hubcentric spacer?
