Was just reading PCNA marketing material for '92 MY. Few intresting bits of info in it.
Reason why there is '92 MY is that Porsche could call cars '93 MY since they were introduced after January 1st 1992. Haven't notice exact intro date in doc yet but February is mentioned.
Driveline modifications have this as one selling point. 4-speed automatic transmission receives an oil cooler for its differential, as well. As well refers to 5-speed manual cooler. If this is correct Porsche was planning on installing manual gearbox oil cooling system into automatic differential also. Wonder where they planned on putting the cooler as one which is used in manual cars is same what automatic gearbox oil uses?

Probably because no one liked the 5 speed and they were going to stop its availability in favor of the more superior Auto box.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Erkka - Interesting, maybe they would have reused the rad side tanks again. I presume the reason these were dropped from use was the extra cooling load from the engine w/ the 5.4L - so maybe that would have been marginal for cooling...

Are you thinking about using that rebuilt 5 spd GTS box?
I have a 92 GTS automatic. Maybe one day I will try to change it for manual since that was my objective when I bought the car. Just like the one Herkka has.

-Those legendary big hip flares are only 1", while spacers moved wheels out
approximately 1 3/8 "
-Only 928 to receive 17" wheels
-4 piston Brembo's are largest caliper to be fitted to a street Porsche along with a whopping 12 3/4" diameter brake rotor. (which leaves us with the question...What came first, the 17" wheel or the brake set up???)
-Largest most powerful engine to be stuffed into a Porsche
-993 wheels appeared on the GTS first which is what they were probably intended
for
-928 transmission gearing changed to accommodate increased power
-(unofficial) Porsche's decision to install and map for mild cams in GTS as they
were phasing out the 928...a marketing decision.
