Cooling upgrades to 2v race engine heads: suggestions?
Hi all,
putting my track-car back together after a total re-seal (among other things), but remember seeing information a long time ago regarding upgrading the flow of coolant out of the rear of the heads & such. Rather than kill my precious time researching my options, I'll use a joker card here & ask what others have done. Any takers??

Mark,
I simply haven't had any issues with cooling on my 84 Euro Engine. I have the new 928Intl Radiator, use an after market electric fan, and RedLine Water Wetter. The only time the temperature even comes close to getting hot is when I've run a race and have to go immediately to the line up for a second race and the car is idling for 5 minutes.
After each race I do check the temps across the engine and everything is well within limits. The temperature throughout the race is much lower than Seattle Rush Hour traffic.
I always run the cool down lap, open the hood after each race and let the electirc fan run after shutdown.

Thanks Chuck, I do/have done the same with my previous 928's, but all 32v engines. I've seen a -10AN cross-over betweent the coolant plates on the back of the heads, & didn't know if there were udates (such as that) that were recommended more than the obvious

cooling is one of the strong points of our engines. no cross talk is needed behind the heads. as it is, they are fed individually from the pump, through the block and then through the heads and meet to the front of the engine where it heads to the radiator for cooling.
Im using a stock radiator, very old, and with 330rwhp, never experienced any issues with stock electric fans
(nor did i with my 290rwhp 2 valver and one stock and one added electric fan , in a push pull configuration)
