83 Euro in Rice, Minn.
Just noticed this on ebay, 83 Euro 5 spd, located in Rice Minn. $7500 Bin. Is this just a plain Euro, or were all the 83 an S?

The 5.0L in the ad I figure is seller doesn't know boo about it, but how do you tell its a Euro S? Is it the WUR in the front that I am seeing?
I've been looking for the two headed distributor, but maybe that is 84+.

The VIN being ZZZ is one tell, the side markers on the fenders is another tell and the rear foglight is a third tell. I am sure there are others. Of course you would want the engine code if you were seriously considering the car.

Too sunroof for me to want the whole car, too much for just the motor even if its and S, which I am thinking now maybe its not.

I've had a couple people tell me that some of the Euro S motors will have US parts, either from somebody pillaging the heads or cams, or as cheaper replacement parts if the originals have been damaged. Could be the most reliable easy check would be a flat stretch of road and a stop watch.
I don't want to stir up the seller, so I will leave any more questions to somebody directly interested.

It also has an "S" steering wheel.
As someone said, get the engine number to be sure. I can't speak to how you would check for cams not being original.
If it's a true 4.7 Euro S it will have about 260 rwhp and 2.73 final drive gears. The price seems fair if it is what it's represented to be. IMHO of course
No affiliation etc.

You might be thinking of the 77-82 Euro 4.5L
In '83, they only sold 4.7L Euro motors

Seems like there are a ton of *83* Euros, in comparison with other years. Maybe they catch my eye more, but seems like someone was doing a lot of importing for some reason during that year.
