That is nice!

I love the chrome. Until now I had not heard of chrome powder coat. And I think it's nicer than the stock.

I might opt for that on my intake as well. Not sure. That might look a bit much.

Nice project. I keep thinking about supercharging. But I can hardly find a place to use my normally aspirated car. But it is cool. I'm very tempted. And that almost always leads to my weakness.

Shawn,

You just couldn't stand it, could you? You had to have yours come out better than mine. It's looking fantastic. I can't wait to ride in it at SITM.

Brendan,

Here is an example of what using the Lab Metal with a little patience and elbow grease can do.

The photo below is the same powder coated cam cover before and after Jeannie spent a little time filling and sanding with the Lab metal. There are still a few flaws but this 85 Cam Cover was the extreme of a very bad original casting. The resulting difference was well worth the time spent to strip it, fill/sand and PC it again.

BTW, the photo does not really do the dramatic difference justice.

Dr,

What PC gun are you guys using? My cheap Harborfreight gun is starting to quit on me and it makes the paint bubble because of the uneven spray pattern.

MAN!!! I almost didn't post this one since it's so close to being completely done but I wanted to show off the valve covers. The intake will cover them up some. I CAN'T WAIT TO DRIVE THIS BABY!!!!

Shawn ordered very early on the original pre-order price of $6995 for the polished version. His install was free since he was first in line for the 85-86 production version and he was willing to wait until the LH 2.2 SharkTuner was ready .....and give me the extra time for our first 85-86 SharkTuning.

There were some additional add ons like PCing the cam covers, and I talked him into buying some new stuff like the coolant reservoir, washer filler neck, wiper cowl cover etc, to make it look nice and new under the hood. There was also some maintainance issues like the inpulse sender, heater valve, fix coolant crossover leak, and windshield washer motor that we replaced while it was here. All of these numbers are irrelevant to the SC Kit install and I don't share peoples Invoicing, so Shawn will share those numbers if he cares to.

So the total cost for his SC kit was $6995 (normally would have been $6995 plus $1500 for us to do the install).

I spent some extra on having dave do some necessary fixes as well as some dress up items. With that pretty of a kit, it seemed a shame not to go the extra mile. Catch me at SITM, hand over a frosty, and I'll give you the bottom line.

It sounds like a lot of money (actually, it is a lot of money), but it is SOOOOO WORTH IT!
