Where are the common places for these land sharks to take on water. Im not sure if I have a hatch issue or a moon roof leak.

the rear hatch seal will leak into the car it leaks at the top portion , if you remove the hach seal you will see a white powder residue this was some of the factory sealant that was installed in the channel of the hatch seal . I used some Dow Corning 111 silicone non setting sealant it is easier if you have a syringe filled with the sealant . remove the hatch seal and clean it with some car soap and a scrub brush be careful at the right side top as there is a wire loom that goes to the hatch after everything is dry inject the sealant into the hatch seal the part that presses onto the metal of the body then squeeze the channel back together to make it fit tighter, use hand pressure, install the seal, now the seal shold not let water leak into the car from the top. If your having problems with the hach seal leaking you may also want to reseal the blower box seal as this almost always is a leaking part and it will let water leak onto the CE panel in the passenger foot well, and start the gremlins a working on your electrics

look to see where the water is in the car. then start tracing it. there are 1000 places the car usually leaks. windows, doors, windshield, sunroof, hatch glass, hatch seal, side windows, rear lock, lights, heater fan.
