I'd actually like to have that hood hanging on my garage wall.

Some people see the "tacky factor" some others see the art and the time it took to do that. Cool airbrushing..on the hood of a cool car. Ill take dibs on it!

i agree 100% on the car it looks like hell, but in a garage or game room

I bet you can get a B&W done for your GTS Keith

I agree, the hood alone is pretty cool. Link to the for sale ad?

When I worked at the Autohaus after high school, we had a master Painter who embedded regular posters into the clear coat of a few hoods - his own car, the owners' daughters car, and another one or two hoods for demo. I was quite surprised in how that came out - I would have expected the paper to warp or get soaked with clearcoat unevely. But it looked perfect on all hoods he made.

Basically, he painted the hood in the car's body color. Then he embedded the poster in clear coat. Then he blended body paint arround the edges of the poster, and then he finished it up with another thick layer of clearcoat, before sanding it absolutely smooth.

What I could not determine is whether the colors of the poster would fade over time. Would be interesting to know, if the clearcoat provides enough UV protection to prevent that from happening.

Hood on a hood?

I'm thinking there must be some process now for making large image "decals" to use on cars, like the advertising on Mini's.

OTOH around SoCal you see a lot of trucks usually with fancy airbrush art.

I would be so toast if I put some girls butt on my car. My bones would be scattered in the desert.

Is that your car? If so, you might want to turn the rubber bumper in the corner under your hood counterclockwise to lift the hood a hint when closed...

I thought I should point that out, because it's doubtful any of the guys would see it.
