While I commend Todd's effort on keeping the 928 flame alive, I can't help but think 'why hasn't he been forced to become a sponsor?'
I offer to sell a ****ing $5 piece of **** part and two cry-baby sponsors have the Rennlist Gestapo on my white ***.
My doomsday Rennlist clock is getting damn near close to midnight.

Well Todd, I think it is pretty obvious who and what you are by this listing and thread. First you try to say you have no interest in this sale, and then when you get CAUGHT, you say you're just helping a stranger. Yeah right. You know as well as I do the pictures you have provided do not clarify what additional damage has been done to interior, electrical and rubber components of this poor neglected GTS. You also know as well as I do that an A/C system with serious, expensive problems can be charged and will "blow cold" for a short period of time. Say, the time it takes to sell to an unsuspecting buyer.
I have watched you operate in this community for a couple years, and I think it is as clear to most everyone else as it is to me that you will say most anything to sell a car or get some credit. The pathetic part is that you seem to be more interested in being applauded for things you have not really contributed than you are in actually selling a car.
You're an interesting man, and I admit I'm drawn to your silliness like a moth to the flame.......................but that's my problem.

You may wanna grab another bag of popcorn while your at it there Tony before I tell you what I'm about to tell you. But first one question. Where do you find all that time to go back and dig up all those old quotes anyway? Man, if I were to rush judgements on people, I would assume you had absolutely NO life outside of this forum. But I don't make judgements like that.

Okay, here's the good news. The kid is back, he's makin' no appologies, and have just taken out a HUUUUUGE home equity line of credit as so I can get into buying and selling, that's right, just 928's from here on out, FULL TIME! Sweet huh?

I intend to buy up every good deal on a 928 I can possibly find out there. I'll be buying them up quicker than it takes the average person to get a PPI done. Now, this only applies to all S4's, GT's and GTS's that my good friend Michael hasn't already picked up. So for all those looking for pre-87's, it's still an open market. But, I do intend to mark them up considerably and sell as many as I possibly can. So, wish me luck!

Todd...

Methinks thou protesteth too much!

I'm a doc. Maybe the previous physician owners were 100% conscientious about the mechanicals.

But paint damage like that doesn't just appear overnight. That's BAD paint damage, and if it's present in the areas shown, it'll show up elsewhere in short order. (And saying that the water-based paints of those years are known to have problems isn't exactly reassuring! It's more of a fair warning of what's to come!)

So, I'm sorry, but I'm in the camp of those who feel a total down-to-the-metal respray is needed. Otherwise, I'd bet you my monthly salary that the clear coat will be peeling in other areas soon.

And here's my problem with the car. Like I said above, that degree of paint damage doesn't just pop up overnight. That kind of damage requires a looonnnnnnng time of neglect. If a PO didn't care enough to notice early signs of paint problems LONG ago, and take some protective measures - like a car cover, or keeping it garaged, or fixing the damage when it was dime-sized - then I'd have to agree that the car was neglected. At least in its exterior appearance.

But here's the easy endpoint to the argument: If you're right, the car will sell for the listed price!

If it sells, you can come back and thumb your nose at the naysayers. If it doesn't sell, maybe the guys here aren't so stupid after all.

In that case, my stroked GTS just hit the market. Todd, I'll give you first dibs.

Does anyone else see the inherent lunacy in this? It's like watching someone play Russian roulette.

Good luck, Todd.

By low miler: my good friend Michael
Does Wilhoit know that you refer to him this way in public? The last time I mentioned you to him he claimed he didn't know you.

Huuuuuuuuuuuuh? Your just an idiot. Re-read my original thread. I said "and yes, I DO have an interest in this car". And when did I get caught? What planet are you from? I never tried to hide the fact that I was selling this car for someone else. You just sound like someone trying to jump on a bandwagon to me. Get a life!

Its not like the rest of the paint on the car is "good" its known bad paint that just hasn't failed yet.

Todd I think you should give some thought to who your customers will be for these cars, and perhaps how delicate the relationship is you propose to trample on.

I really don't know whats worse, me not finding a nice 87/89 5 spd that isn't red with no sunroof, or you flipping it just out of my budget.

Refer to him in what way? And yes, we know each other very well, thank you. Now, if you refered to me as low miler, then that was the problem. Regardless, he sells great cars and I've never said one bad word about him. I personally admire his effforts.

But this is my own personal mission. As for the line of credit question, yes, I'm selling all of my restuarants, but just couldn't wait to jump into the 928 market full time, so I've taken out a line of credit until they're sold. And yes, my customers will miss me dearly. But thenagain, they're paying customers.

In addition, I've already got two GT's and one GTS, so as of now, that's all I can afford. And for the person questioning my having to obtain a line of credit to buy these cars, your sadly mistaken my friend as to my position. You'll find that out very soon (check Ebay).

And if you knew anything of the car market, you'd also know that the majority of exotic car dealers buy their cars with a line of credit as well.

And for the person making the "target audience" remark, this is not my target audience on these cars. Hard to believe, but I've never sold any of my cars to a Rennlister. Well, with the exception of another underpriced '94 GTS I sold to Rennlist member CMW. Hard to believe that all 928 enthusiasts aren't members of such a positive reinforcement website as Rennlist, I know.

And finally, for the uneducated Ebay person asking why my Ebay auction is hidden? Well, it's not. See how wrong you can be. If it was a "hidden auction" as you appear to think, it would say so. In reality, Ebay, in an effort to curb sabatoged accounts, they have hidden the identities in all their auctions. Now the usernames are hidden in all Ebay auctions to protect the buyers and sellers.

Okay, okay guys, your starting to make me hungry with all of these replies. So I may have to eat real quick, and then we can resume with the fun, okay?

Todd

I'll be having the cheese curds, thank you. I'm headin' to Culvers! Don't worry, I'll be back, though...................

...and it seems that you like to jump on any negative bandwagon there is.
HEY!!!! I'm the F***ing DRIVER of that thing!!!!

OK...is this "low dangler" I am talking to? (funny how you don't see these two at a party together )

Seriously man. I know my posts come off with negativity, but it is the passion I have that gets in the way and gives them their color.

One would take great risks in putting their reputation on the line, for representing an item that they have not physically seen or inspected, while portraying such item as to be at the very least, acceptable. This is why I say buyer beware. If you cannot see the possibilities in all that is presented to you over this particular vehicle, then you are not one to trust as a seller. We are looking at the same pictures you had received. Why do we see it and you do not? Is it because you spoke to the owner by phone, therefore, you know first hand of the truth? Thats not a very good card to have in your back pocket.

This forum is interesting in as much as we are all that we type for the most part. I would expect that there are folks here that I think I would like as friends, but this is only based on their typing skills. My point is, never get your feathers in a ruffle...even if someone directly calls you a name. This is just a forum of opinions and experience in written words. One thing you will never find with my posts is my getting upset at what folks perceive me to be...I am much worse. Lighten up dude! This is all for your benefit, but you still insist on struggling.

I have to agree with Charley B at this time, as I believe he hit it right on the head in post # 34.
