I replaced mine with standard Porsche horns as found on all other Porsches, including the early 928's. I love them

Interesting! On the 86.5 the horns are straight and they look like a small version of air horns found on the roof of big rigs. They are red and ~10" long.

Something must be missing for it to fall out, and because it is hidden by the fender liner on mine, thats why I haven't seen it.

Wouldn't really matter, everyone knows I'm coming before they can see me.

there is a hole on the bottom of the lower chin spoiler and if the conditions are right the horn can fall out of this whole it seems that with vibrations the thin metal that they use and the spotty welds seem to break the mount brackets, I have had to re attach a few mounts with hardware from failed welds

Sounds like an ex-girlfriend to me.

The early 928s had what I call "pimp horns." They look like air horns without a compressor. You can go to pick up some FIAMM 2-tone air horns from almost any auto parts store or you can get the older style 928 horns (although they can be a bit pricey. The FIAMM horns come with a relay that is identical the horn relay in the car already so I would think you could do the install without having to do any custom wiring.

I had it happen with the A/C compressor.
"What is THAT noise?!"
It was the A/C compressor being dragged along the pavement held only by the coolant lines...
The 928 is not even a little ok for going off-road.
