Not sure, I think the hardware and software are capable but I haven't learned where to access that data on my car or how to program the DL-32 to translate that signal into data LogWorks understands...
I'm working on trying to get the MAF inlet temperature and vacuum/boost hooked up right now since I know how to gather those inputs. Once I figure out the math to set up the DL-32 to translate those inputs into data I'll move on to the injector duty and then ignition.

It might seem like redundancy since I have the SharkTuner and it does all this and much, much more but I don't think driving around with the SharkTuner permanently connected is practical and this will at least give me the ability to log some of the basics anytime with just the touch of a button.
The DL-32 has a SecureDigital memory card in it so you don't even have to have the laptop in the car, just push the button to start logging, then pop the SecureDigital card out and read the logs on any computer. Since I know I'll be tweakin' this car for a long time it's worth it to me to be able to quickly track of the effects of the changes I make to the car.

Hi Craig,
I have had an idea that might allow the data capture with the SharkTuner as you require (witout EPROM cable connected) but we will have to look into this further...

Craig,
It is a 5v signal.
How about using the knock sensor to control a two stage boost controller or something similar. They use a vacume line from manifold as their signal and allow a certain amount to "leak" to control boost. Couldn't you also use this type of system to retard ignition by hooking it to the vacume advance of the distributor and defaulting to the lower vacume level (more leak) when the signal from the knock sensor hits the controler? It may take some tinkering but I think it could work. I am assuming that an 86 has a vacume advance on the distributor. I know my 84 and 78 do.

Cool..defintiely looks like knock.

Looks like the AFR is good at that point as well. ..and you are a ways into the RPM range also.?
Wheres the boost line?

Cool!

I think I'll try and rig this up too (once I get the car running again.)

That would be great.
The SharkTuner has everything in it's logs. Could you include the EZK with the LH data? That would be, to borrow from the Guinness guys, Brilliant!
Keep me informed and thanks again!

I'm just getting everything hooked up, still haven't figured out how to program the Logworks/DL-32 to display the vac/boost properly. I read through your thread on it where someone showed you how to limit the scale to go from full vacuum to 10 psi on the boost side but for some reason I'm not getting it...

The 85/86 doesn't have a vac contolled distributor, but does have a vac feed to a MAP type sensor inside the EZ-F. So you may be able to use that. I haven't checked the control range in crank degrees of that part of the system yet.

If there's no vacuum to the EZ-F MAP, disconnected/WOT, the max retard is 20°.

Well, that's a usually potential range of adjustment. However I hope we will be able to offer remapable igntion advance/retard for the EZ-F ECU is due course.

I see what you meant, now - the range of the timer circuitry that's programmable.

sorry for the delay John Speake, i was planning on monitoring the knock signal to control ignition timing under boost (intake manifold boost)

Hey guys, I was going to try hooking this up this weekend, but then I realized that John gave the pinout for the 88. Does anyone know what it is onthe 89+ diagnostic plug? There used to be a diagram floating around with the pinout (IIRC) but I cannot find it.

Update: Herr Speake sent me a PM telling me that the knock sensor data should be able to be logged off of Pin 19 ont he round diagnostic plug. We'll see if I can get it to work this weekend.
