Just to add my $0.928 worth, I only had a valet (short) key. Emailed scan to Stewart and he not only duplicated that he also was able to create the long (alarm) key as well. They all worked great. Reasonable price and quick turnaround. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Another Keys4classics satisfied customer here. Stewart can also do the key with no head so you can add an original Porsche key head if you want; I think they're about $19 from 928Int'l.

Cliff,
I only have the short key as well. Let us know what comes of this. I'm leaning heavily toward the majority here and sending some pics to Keys4classics.
(note to self: at least take pics before you lock it in the car or lose it).

NJSharkfan,
Good point on taking they pics (of each side of the key) and socking them away in case you loose your only one! I've put copies on at least three different servers for that eventuality.
It reminds me of a story that Bigmac tells me about a colleague of his who, in addition to having a beautifully original pre-S 928 (yes, an OB!) also has a Mercedes Benz 300 coupe in his collection. When Bigmac asked him about not seeing the M-B for awhile, the man replied that he had lost the keys! That stinks!
So the moral of the story, kids....

I bought 2 keys for my 78 on eBay from keys4classics and can only say good things about them. Its hard to believe they can cut keys from a picture but they do and mine work great.

Another keys for classics fan, 2 huf (factory long key) blanks from photos, about 2 weeks as they were out of the huf blanks and $96 shipped.
Couldn't be happier,
FlyingDog did the same thing 2 weeks b4 me and he got a silca blank and a huf blank, both worked fine as well as far as I know.

I recently used Keys4Classics.com. Worked exactly as the web site claims. Car started on first try. Stuart, the Key Guy, also sends the Key Code for each key. I got one each of the "alarm" and "no alarm" keys: $78.70 delivered.

Stuart has made contact and can make the keys from the pictures I sent. I am going to have him make 2 of the longer alarm key. Is there any reason I would want the shorter key? I will then have 3 of the alarm key's and that is all.

For those too lazy to search, here is the info. Any idea what he charges to cut a key from code?
Thread I found his info in said the dealer only charged $40 for a code cut key, but it may vary greatly from dealer to dealer.
