Default Make sure your fuses are correct amps!

When I was checking a relay, I noticed that one of the fuses was the wrong amp (color) compared to the manual. I ended up checking them all, and about 9 out of 34 were either too low or too high amp fuses.

PO/OO was great about getting car service, but these things still happen.

For less than $10 on ebay you can also get a full replacement set of all copper and brass fuses and just replace all of them and clean the contacts up.

There have been a few posts over the years about folks who have made this 'discovery' and replaced a bunch of fuses. A few days later thay are trying to figure out why the car won't start, lights won't work, etc. Sometimes they have a fuse chart from a diferent year. Other times they may be working on a car that has a fues panel from the year before or the year later model.

Just for grins and restful sleep later, you would do well to take a few pictures of the panel before any fuses are 'corrected'. That way if you later find that your correction neeeds to be uncorrected, you'll remember what used to be in each slot.

Be careful about the source of information.

I found an error on the fuse chart for the 90' S4/GT that 928 Specialists has on thier web site.

Fuse #25 Interior Lights/Instrument Cluster takes 7.5 amp fuse per WSM Wiring Diagram, Specialists calls for 5 amp fuse.
