I like formula one, but I also like the American Le Mans series. The only thing I won't watch or attend is NASCAR. Anybody can do left, left, left, left; sooo boring, no wonder everyone waits for the crashes.

I agree with both of you. Love F1. I've been watching it religiously since 1993. I cannot stand going round in circles. I don't know who I'm rootin' fer next year.

The Fernando-Kimi battle might be interesting. But, I doubt it. Kimi's going to Ferrari with the best (or second best) car. Alonso's going to Maclaren and well... they've been teh suk for a few years.

I may pick out one of the younglings to cheer on. Rosberg or maybe the Kubicka <sic>.

This is off to OT soon. Maybe.

Ahhhh, Formula One. Now we're talking!!

I have two, framed drawings I did back when I was a kid. One is of Gilles in the Rossa Rampante and the other is of a Renault, can't remember the driver. During those days, I thought "Prix" was pronounced "******" (sorry for the possible foul language).

When I was stationed in Alaska, I flew alone from Fairbanks to Montreal in 1998 for my first GP and the year following for my second. I will never forget the first time I heard that V-10 fire. It will send shivers through your body. The clutches cracking (especially the McLarens) during down-shift and those beautiful engines reaching RPMs in the high teens further solidify the passion of motorsport.

Looking to thaw after Alaska, I asked and received a Hawaii assignment. From there, my wife and I attended the 2000 and 2001 Aussie GsP. She loved the 2000 race so much we went back for the 2001 event.

Transfered to Ft Bragg, NC, we drove the 12 hours to Indianapolis for the USGP.

Folks, if there is one thing you do before you pass, please, please attend a F1 GP. The sound and speed is something you will always remember. It truly is special.

I was born a tifoso and Porsche lover; my dad bought a 76 911 when I was four. I have been honored with the welfare of three Ferrari's, not at the same time, though! My first was a 77 GTB, second an 82 Mondial and third an 81 Si (see photos). The 81 Si was stolen at 0414 Mountain Time, 21 Sep 05. It was recovered four days later after being run into a police car. I sold it to a guy who, saying he was going to repair it, turned around and sold it to Jesse James at Monster Garage. I was disgusted knowing it was going to a butcher like James. He made it into a pasta maker on one of his shows. Look it up on his site. What once was a marvelous automobile turned into a disgrace. I still feel guilty about it. Following the loss of the 81, I decided it was time for a P-car and the 928 was my first choice.

My point to the previous paragraph is that I am a die-hard F1 tifoso. I will back Scuderia Ferrari and cheer for whomever is at the controls. I am not a big Kimi fan but will cheer for him all the same. I'd back Big Bird in Rossa Corsa if it came to that.

I will, as a sidebar, pull for Scott Speed as the sole American in F1 this year. I've heard him interviewed and he seems to be a nice guy.

I just wish Porsche would reenter F1. How sweet that would be.

Sorry for the long post.

I still think that Kimi is the best ***** out racer out there today - and would have been series winner had the Mercedes sustained better reliability. I'll put my nickle on him with Ferrari this year ....

I like Scott Speed, he HAD a reputation with the media for being difficult and having less to say than the Finns, but the people at Red Bull have knocked some sense into him and he's now pleasant to listen to.

Rosberg (his dad was cool) The german with the Finnish father who's an ethnic Swede (born in Stockholm) from Finland seems to have a lot of potential. Kubica is a natural. I really cannot wait until Piquet Jr replaces Fisi at Renault, odd less than 15 years ago Briatore was Piquet sr's boss.

I'm with Jim M., the American Le Mans Series is where it's at for sportscar fans.
Watch the Penske and Dyson Porsche RS Spyders battle the Audis, Acuras, Mazdas and others in the prototypes and in GT the all new 997 RSR takes on the Ferrari 430, Panoz Esperante and more.

Can't wait for Sebring!

Been a fan since the early '70s and fortunate to visit many tracks when my career took me to Paris. Silverstone, Le Mans, Magny Cour, Hockenheim, Imola, Monza and of course Circuit Gilles Villneuve in Montreal. Still need to get to Spa.

This year Kimi should be able to shine in a robust Ferrari where Fernando will have deal with the McLarens reliability. Renault may struggle with their driver line up and I really hope Ant Davidson is the #1 Honda driver beating Buttton and Barrichello.

If anybody gets the chance to travel to Northern Italy try to get to Marranello and visit the Galleria de Ferrari...........they have many F1 cars and engines on display. Getting into the factory is almost impossible but the restaurant across the street from the main gates has a very impressive display area.

I like Kubica (sp?). He showed some real driving abilities last year. I think this year he'll be even more impressive.

I don't follow F1 as much as I used to, but I have been involved in Motorsport since 1956, at age 16 working on RR cars as a helper, and then a career after Military service...as an engine builder, directly involved with NASCAR until retirement in 2002.
I saw as many GP events as possible while serving in Europe in the early sixties. To this day, I remember in order, the flawless skill of Stirling Moss at Sebring , I think it was 1958 (Aston Martin). the many excellent Drivers in Stock Cars , i'e David Pearson and Cale, who made us look good in the late 70's and early 80's
....but the finest performance I ever saw was Jim Clark's flawless drive at Zaandvoort GP in Holland 1965...and certainly His performances at the Indy500.
There were, and are so many great Drivers, but in my opinion,....

Jim Clark is the best I ever saw.

I do the same but without the Mrs. Watching it in real time is almost as good as being there. We typically get the races on 2 seperate satellite channels so when one goes to commercial over we go..........interesting differences between the British commentators and the guys on Speed.

Yeah dudes, F1 and Moto GP!!! Kubica was incredible in his first season after replacing that crybaby Villeneuve. I used to photograph the race when it was in downtown Detroit. Have many pics of now deceased drivers- very sad.
After seeing Mercedes come back to F1, my question is this: Why does Porsche not have an F1 team? Someone out there must know.
