Hi Bill - I'm watching the best comedy show on the tube tonight ... the Barrett-Jackson high rollers " mine is bigger than yours" display

Back to business ... The Koni gas units with wrench flats on the piston rod as installed my '80 are ~ 12 years old, and still as tight as new. In all likelyhood, Mark has the same generation shocks.
I had purchased a NOS set of identical looking pure hydraulic Konis for a 928 on an ebay deal ... but found another home for them before I got to use them: I suspect that they were 15+ years old, but most of the racing Konis of that era were non gas units and excellent shocks ( had them on Audis). When it came to doing the S4, a recent set with the allan hex heads were used.

It looks like these oldies hold up a lot better than the newer ones. That helps explain while people with old Konis swear by them and why they had such a good reputation, while some people with the newer Konis, swear at them. Completely different shocks.

Oh, B-J has been entertaining. I've got it running in window on the PC. Saw the guy I bought my 66 Vette from (sold years ago) selling his "last Stingray" for $600K.

I can push them down about 3/4"...and they DO slowly return.

Any out there with one of the old no gas filled Koni's for the front. I have three and want to make a complete set. Can the old hydralic be mixed side to side the new gas filled ones?

Thanks
