In lieu of a future X-pipe upgradee, I'd like to redirect the passenger side exhaust to run parallel with the driver side. The piping is going to be upgrade into dual 2.5" pipes going into a a flowmaster muffler located where the driver side intermediate muffler used to sit. Pipes will then go through resonators located near the back of the car and out the normal area where the factory muffler used to sit.
Is there enough clearance and space in the driver side area to run 2 2.5" pipes by there? And, if so....who has pictures of this done? Thanks!

Okay how about if I used a collector after the cats and merged the dual 2.5" pipes into a 3"??? Would there be a power loss as a result of the merger?

Okay I got one for you...
What about from the cats, dual 3" pipes going into a Y-collector that is 4" in Diameter, then running that to a 40 series Delta Force Flowmaster muffler, using another dual 3" / 4" Y-collector out to split it up for the exhaust tips?
Shouldn't be too loud for the street..... right?![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)
How about any loss in HP with that set up?

The more I read, the more I'm confused. I've got an '87 S4 and it is dual all the way back (with RMB), except for the Y connection where the O2 bung is. I'm beginning to think this isn't stock? Can anyone comment here? Are the X-pipes w/ cats really that much better?

I shot this pic after we did our "ti" spray on coating. Worked awesome!

Fraggle.......that looks stock...with the larger 87 pre mufflers.....the 88 and later cars have the smaller pre mufflers BUT it does tend to make it much louder with a RMB, especially with an Xpipe!!
