I just emailed him. If I am able to go, I can bring our local PCA's flags, some cones and fire ext's.

I have run this track before...(Prior to the recent 'updating'). Be aware - it is pretty tight, and not a lot of room for our sharks to 'stretch their legs' - it is actually designed for 2-wheelers...probably a little more friendly to a 944/951 then a shark. In fact - I'll likely run my 951.

Here are some pics. It was like paradise, rolling hills in the background, cows across the street and a newly constructed track all to our small group.

First in line is Mark from Pensacola's 944. 928s included mine, All4woody's twin screwed well modified S4 and Red's fresh from the workshop racecar.

The track has been redesigned, it's a slower track with 100 mphish top speeds but very challenging changing radius turns. It's a great track for gaining real driving expertise. Some of the guys were plaqued by boiling brakes but Mark get's top prize for a blown head gasket . Woody's car accelerates like a catapult, a ride will make you appreciate just how good a supercharged 928 is, truly impressive
I slapped some Hoosiers on my stock S4 and was pleased at how an otherwise unmodified 928 fares. The car leaned towards understeer but had no vices and could be scooted around the track at a quick rate, some more power would make it perfect . Also unusual was that there were no drops of oil all over the garage the next day, just some spongy brakes are the only detriments.
Thanks to Wally for putting word out, too bad you couldn't be there

Here's Red's racecar debut. This car has had some serious effort put into it and Red has the vision for it and done most of the work himself. I wish I could leave my car with him for a year or so

The price one pays for having a friggin' BLAST!!!

My wrench and I were just discussing my head gasket - seems I did a BANG UP job of blowing it out (even tho I have a ringed block!). He has suggested that for future tracking of my little 951, that I go with some race gas to reduce detonation - even tho I was running pretty rich. Nonetheless - a great group of guys had a GREAT time!

Thankfully - the head gasket problem was about 15 minutes in to my last session!

I had a passanger on this last run, too. A guy had brought an Infiniti G45 (nice car - super quiet! - I was pretty impressed - it seemed to handle the track better then M3's I've seen). Here's a little conversation we had in the car after a few laps - just before the lovely smell of coolant:

Him: DAMMMMMMM.....this {expletives deleted} is a {expletive deleted} blast!
Me: Yea - not bad for a 20 year old car with a quarter million miles on a little 4-banger...
Him: FOUR CYLINDER!?!?!?!? {expletives deleted}!!!

Have you ever considered using a water injection system of some kind, such as Aquamist? Perfect for turbo'd (and supercharged) cars that produce boost and the heat that comes with it. No more detonation ever! I use an Aquamist (I believe the model number is 2C-Race) set up in my Saab 900 SPG (running ~ 25 psi of boost on a custom Mitsubishi turbo) and the performance difference is unquestionable.

I have a contact in Kansas City who is an Aquamist dealer; he'll hook you up. Just let me know.
