Intake Manifold Spacers that Increase Torque...Do they still exist?

I was under the impression that these spacers wouldn't make more torque, merely shift it higher into the RPM band. If thats the case, the benifit is greatest for strokers or big displacement engines. Then again, I could be absolutely full of $@%^.

The spacer on the 87- might move the harmonic peaks around, and allow for better breathing, but it's not changing the tube length?
Lengthening the tubes on an 85-86 would move the torque peak down.
Let's see, also going to need intermediate tubes to bridge the tube wall gaps, and an open airbox. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I would like to do this too, for reduced heat soak.

Dave,
My memory isn't that good either, but I thought they put the long runners on the "special" Plymouths and Dodges made for the 1/4 mile tracks in 61 or 62. IIRC they had no accessories, 7" shorter wheel base and a beefed up AT. They ran class A (FX) in NHRA and beat the puny A stockers by at least a second. When did the 413 come out?

Dennis, also aluminum fenders & hood, etc. I am thinking that the 413 wedge became available in 63, but I could be wrong. I know they were available in 64, because I picked up a used Carter AFB at a swap meet many years ago, and by the numbers it's the secondary carb for a '64 413 wedge. I basically rebuilt it and shelved it, since it wasn't going to work right on my 440, not unless I had a 2-4bbl manifold(which I didn't). One of these days I'll find someone who actually has a use for it...

Dave,
I had stopped going to the drag strip and joined the USAF by 64 so I'm not familiar with the 413. BTW do you remember the 6 barrel Holleys? Actually 3 Holley 2150's linked together. weren't these on the Ford 427's?
