Oh good I just thought burning out was a teenage thing, now that I know adults do it to i dont feel so bad. though my dad still gets mad at me when he finds chunks of rubber missing from the rear tires.

I laid it down so thick that I blocked traffic until the smoke cleared. I really got into it that day and left a pound of rubber on the road. This was with my 86 auto. Damm what a monster. With my 90 at an autox, fans said that my car disappeared in the smoke screen.

Correct ..."because a driver gets anxious about their speed in a turn, and lets off, even slightly." Throttle induced oversteer from Engine braking is lessened by feeding in more throttle. But BIG BUT power oversteer from too much throttle only gets worse if you stomp on the gas...MUCH WORSE !

The only variation for Andre' is whether or not a black and white is sharing the intersection. It doesn't change his driving style, it only heightens the excitemant.

The AT gets more of the surprise your sideways stuff than a manual, but everybody should spend some time sideways to learn how their car behaves and to train yourself to react properly.
Except for the fact they were likely drunks working off a public service sentence I feel kind of bad about going sideways on a freeway onramp and the first I saw of the orange coats was as they were diving over the rail. Use some caution on the public streets, you may still be in control, but its LESS control than normal.

There is no substitute for drivers education and track time. Local POC school uses the big skid pad at Willow Springs you see it in many many car commercials.. Being able to drive circles at the limit is a great learning experience modulating between oversteer understeer what happens if you lift ,brake get on the gas. Then some actual Streets of Willow track time does wonders for everyone. I recall on super charged GT which ended up on it's roof where the driver when the backend stepped out got on the gas "to shift weight onto the rear wheels" that was just before the world turned upside down... Having spent much time on the Streets of Willow both driving and instructing I find it interesting that when most cars spin out in a corner they usually spin in. The rear end slides out that scrubs off speed then the tires catch and the car shoots of the track in the direction which it was pointed to the inside of the corner.
