I like the big circle at willow springs. Didn't like the dust.

Sorry, misread it. My eyeballs are frozen here in cold Dallas, I guess.

I don't know Ed, you seem a little testy the last few days. I thought maybe it was the big 50 heading your way that had you spooked. :>)

Naw, just this gloomy winter weather we've been having. I'll work thru the 50 thing with a 3 day Skip Barber racing school at Laguna Seca that I bought myself as a present.

Now Jim, I didn't need to hear that. Actually there is a video of a 944 at Summit Point doing exactly that. Hit the wall head on way down the road. I guess sometimes it's better to let the car go rather than try too hard to recover. Driver was ok.

BTW, what do you do in an auto? Shift in Neutral?

It's often better to drive the car off of the track than it is to try and correct. That is a very large point that is stressed at our PCA region DE's. We had a guy show up to one event last year with a Mitsu Evo, and did the same thing. He ended up shooting across the track, broke his front end suspension off and flipped it. Not pretty.

I did a "controlled" slide with a resultant burn-out turning in front of the police chief here, good thing he is my neighbor and on good terms. I only got the "you are too old for that kind of behavior" thing, and I disagreed.

The only time I can think of to shift an A/T into nuetral on the track, is if you are gonna spin and want to try and keep the engine from stalling. And good luck with that.
