It's a Mercedes E Class (E 350 Avantgarde). The lights you refer to as takeoff lights are actually for the landing gear...!

The car with takeoff lights is my other car, the one with the horse on the hood.... (no, not that one, I sold it...)

PS... This E Class would go faster, if it were not for the darned limiter...!

Have fun guys...!

BTW, I took the pic myself...

It's a done deal. I wouldn't have done it that way. Here is a link: http://www.tixnix.com/
Engrave this on a bronze plaque and keep it in your car. They offer a fast response.

The story you told is full of holes. Once he lost sight of you it is over.
You don't believe he actually chased down the Mazda AFTER he spent so much time writing you, do you? Easy money for the state and a crime statistic to boot. You made his night. Nothing personal.

Next time click on my avatar and PM me first. And if you own a house, remember 1-800-300 BAIL.

I know somebody who asked a cop to write his ticket for a higher speed (which the cop did) then went into court and argued that the ticket was invalid since it was higher than the speed the cop clocked him doing. It worked.

Ron...

only telling the story from my perspective. thank you for the link...

I'm not entirely sure he lost sight of me, but suspect so due to things I know to be true... however, I had no chance to just pedal down and hop off to the back roads because I didn't know he was there untill I was taking my exit. as far as chasing the mazda... I don't think he had to chase him... just radioed ahead. guy had a vanity plate... the trooper even told me the guys plate. may have just been heading off to wherever said mazda was already pulled over to write him up. I dunno. but again, thanks for the link.

Dave,

How are you? Yes, I've been travelling lots in 2006 and am currently in Germany on business. I feel like I go home to drive the 928... Actually, that's not quite true.. I've been spending way too much time in the Range Rover.. The 928 must hate me by now.. I've relegated to driving it 1-2 x per week when I'm in CA..

As for in europe, the E Class will have to suffice... Been thinking of geting a GTS in europe, then there's that dea of a 993 cab floating in my brain.... Oh well...

How have you been...?

I've been very well, thanks. Glad to hear you're still kicking. Hope to see you at an upcoming event... SITP, or maybe even SATL if you can block out a weekend in mid-June.
