WTF with all these 928's being basically thrown away again?? I thought we were working up to a reasonable market .... very disappointing. 86.5 at 1k; 91 at 10k; 89 at 12k; this 5spd S4 at 11k. DEPRESSING

When I was shopping, I found a lot of really good cars "out there" at very reasonable prices (and a lot of overpriced ones in the market of today..but great cars nevertheless. I also found even more 928s that will break the buyer's bank acct. in needed repair costs. And reasonably good used 928's keep cropping up. Good Heavens....Dave L just bought a GTS for about or less than $23K. I really do believe it's related to the kind of new/newish cars one can buy for $15-20K. Even on this list we see people dropping out to get a Boxster, a vette, or something else. Even a brand new Miata track car isn't much more. I paid significantly less for my S4 than what it was listed for and, like any 928, it will need some reoutine PM work like Tbelt, WP, etc. but it was still a real deal at one-owner, original 40K miles, always garaged, no dents, etc. Unfortunately (or fortunately), depending on if you're a buyer or seller), this is was not an uncommon opportunity. I wish I had $$ to stockpile a few 928s at today's prices.

Sometimes dealers just don't understand 928 pricing, look in the book and price the car too low not knowing that a 5 speed 87 is desireable and someone would pay more for that. It wouldn't surprise me if this is a nice car at a low price and that the dealer has no clue.

Usually the "Buy It now" disappears as soon as a bid is made. So if someone is smart, they'll buy it now rather than bid. Usually greed takes over and they'll hope they can get it really cheap for 7k rather than be sure to get a good deal at $11,789.

Way too little info on this one.....obviously a dealer who knows NOTHING about 928's......doesn't mention any of the key points (TB-clutch-brakes-tires-etc).....but if someone is close by and inspects it....might be a good deal if there is documentation behind it?

No interior pics and not much of a description, but for that price, if I was presently in the market (which I'm not right now), I'd have probably already BIN'd it.
Great color combo, clean Carfax, 5 speed, good miles, great price. "Like I've always told you Joel, sometimes you've just gotta say, what the heck, make your move"

I agree with the time of year thingy. January, regardless of how unusually nice the weather is, is typically the worst time of year to sell a Porsche or any other type of sportscar for that matter.
I think I'll wait until February to sell my '89 GT. I'd hate to get offered only $15K for it, because I'd just have to turn it down and waste money on advertising in the process............................
