Geez, where were all of you guys when I had it listed on months ago! It is a one-of-a-kind car, and I know Mike's going to be one happy camper(Mike, you can wipe that ****-eatin' grin off your face now)...just kidding.
As Michael said, with or without my wife's 928, keep me updated on your fun runs and if it happens when my 930 is back together, I'll join you.

Oh, yes I remember your email to me regarding the frenzy. Sorry I wasn't able to attend. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to meet Mike (michaelathome). He did a very thorough job of checking my car out, and is definitely a 928 advocate. I wish my wife had not stopped driving it, but ever since our older son died in an auto accident, she lost interest. Can't say that she's alone, as my 930 has sat for over a year, waiting for me to finish the rebuild.

Talk about a major hijack. Let's get back to the original topic of this thread. I'm thinking of taking Amtrak to arrive in Manassas on the morning of the 20th. I'm considering spending the day in Va. and leaving before early Sunday morning to drive home to Georgia. Mind if I join your GTG? Maybe David and I can ride together. Kind of a farewell party of sorts.

Details in the first post (in red) for those that only read the last post (Beerfish).
That'd be great to meet up with you. I'm sure we could give you a ride form Union Station (or where ever your stop is) to the car for that matter. Manassas is probably 45 minutes from Rockville (GTG Meet up). We'll be there at 10:00 and then meet for lunch at 12:30 (don't know where yet). But we could also meet up with you afterwards. I'll PM you my phone #. Maybe someone in the Manassas area can also provide you a phone # so you can get around if you don't know the area.

I received some good tips on locations, so I'll have to see about getting it done soon.

Weather looks like it's going to be clear, but cold. Probably more a cruise at 11:00 than a spirited run. Lunch around 12:30 for folks that can't make the meet and greet.

Unfortunately for me, the weather between Va. and Ga. is looking a whole lot better on Saturday than Sunday. The way it looks now, I'll be heading for home once I pick up the car Saturday morning so I won't have to drive all the way in the soup on Sunday. Let's see, that's 12 hours on a train followed by 10 hours in a car. Sounds like another memorable adventure to me.

Thanks for the offer, John but you can have it. Georgia winters are bad enough for me. Where's global warming when you need it? I'd love to stay the day Saturday but I've heard that they put salt and gravel on the roads up there when it snows and sharks are allergic to salt and gravel. I'll check the weather again tomorrow but Sunday's still looking nasty all the way from there to here. It's not all bad though. While you guys are enjoying your cruise, I'll be enjoying my roadtrip.

If you don't make it to the GTG, have a safe trip home. If taking 95, stay close to the speed limit south of Richmond till you get to the border. If you're taking 81 from Virginia, watch out for the fog.
