Grilled marinated vegetables?
That works along with any type of pasta (non-meat sauce of course).
I'm flexible as long as it wasn't alive at one time

Hmm! Ever had skewers with grilled onions and bell peppers? Utterly delicious! I usually add some chicken or salmon, but my best friend's wife is a vegan [no animal products whatsoever] and they used soy-based meat substitutes one night: Hello? That was GOOD eating!

Look for the Morningstar "Grillers Prime" soy burgers in the grocery store- 4 minutes in the microwave with some olive oil and pepper on top, and you have a cheap, low fat meal on the fly! I learned about this trying to save money while sitting in hotel rooms around the world. I'm not a vegetarian.

O.k. so this is a three day event. I'd like to meet as many people as possible, especially my Sunshine State Brethren. Is there a rough schedule? A meet and greet? If I can make it I'll probably go on Saturday. BTW I have a Green Flight Suit 40R.

Saturday. Show up before noon and get a chance to drive on the track for 30 minutes. Then we're gonna cook some food and rent some beer and see where that takes us. G

Angel, I referenced a bit in the initial post but things are kept loose or casual on purpose so everyone can come & go as they wish, watch the races or whatever.

Friday is testing at the track all day. Friday night is a dine & social at George V's restaurant, he provided directions in a post above. Although some come in on Thursday, most arrive throughout the day & evening on Friday.

Saturday get to the track whenever you desire, we will be congregating in an area set aside just for us 928ers. Its just over the bridge upon entry to the track, on the far left, up next to the fence beside the track.

There will be socializing and watching racing all day on Sat. There are vendors selling stuff and food too. You can walk around & see all the race teams. Multiple areas you can watch the races from, including the grandstands that look over the pits and front straightaway. Everything is within a close walk of where we will be parked.

Sat. around 5pm there will be an informal barbeque coordinated by George A. & Russell W. at their RVs. Bring what you want to eat, there will be a grill and lots of libations as well. George V. also has told me that he has rented a band for Sat. night at his restaurant from 8pm-1am. He has a new Tiki bar area just built out next to a large lake behind his restaurant for everyone to enjoy the country and rock music to the wee hours should they choose.

Sunday, return to the track at your leisure, racing goes from the am until about 5pm.

As I mentioned & provided the link in the first post, you can go to the 48 Hours of Sebring web site and get the actual track schedule. The one thing you want to note is the VIP track time on Sat. & Sun. from 12:15-12:45pm both days. That is where they allow any and all to drive the 3.7 mile track single file, no matter what you are driving. You can have your 928 or a mini van, you just have to stay single file & no actual racing. But trust me, as long as the course is, you'll have lots of opportunities to open it up & enjoy the track! Not many races that provide that kind of an opportunity!

I've mentioned here & told many over the past year this story. My wife had a blast as my copilot last year in my previous shark with 30 minutes of fun driving trying to keep up with Constantine in his rental Mustang! Before we left the track she actually said, "hey, if you can find me a nice GTS, I might give up my convertable Z4!" Of course my response was something along the lines of "THANK YOU JESUS!" Then reality set in of actually pulling that off with thoughts of her recanting once she had the top down on her Z4 on a sunny day! She has backed off some, but I don't let that die & she is still keeping that option open! Just have to discourage her from the thoughts of a Caymen that she is now getting the bug for! I still have time I know & we have the track time coming up in a couple of weeks to start the GTS fires again!

It will be fun and anyone who's ever been marks their mental calendar for next year before the weekend is over! Ask Mike McLeod how much fun we had at Daytona & we didnt even have any 928's to root for at the races!(That simply cannot happen ever again!) He's coming back down from Atlanta to Sebring & DR. ED is coming too! Gotta love that kind of deep 928 passion!

Getting back to your question. You will most likely meet the most 928'ers on saturday if you can only pick one of the three. G

Saturday is the Sprint race, Sunday is the Enduro.
The Enduro is when we need "pit help".

Default Enduro crews needed!

Hi Sebring Shark Shiver attendees! The event is coming up very soon and as John pointed out in his post, there will be a need for pit crew(s) for the drivers doing the Enduro race on Sunday. Pit Crew should have at least 2 people, 3 would be better.

We can stagger when the drivers come in for gas but if there are more than two drivers that could become a bit too much for just one crew to handle. I saw someone post that they have a flight suit, great bring it along. I will bring my stuff and hopefully some others will bring some more gear to include fire extinguishers, fireproof gloves, properly rated motorsports helmets, motorcylce helmets won't do since they are not fire rated.

Anyone interested to be a crew member see me at Sebring. We will also have to practice a bit before the race. For those that have never done this sort of thing, it's surprising how involved it can get putting gas into a 928 when a few rules need to be adhered to and with a 5 minute time limit! It's a lot of fun and get's you in some of the race action.

See everyone soon,
Constantine

I'll need a room too. I'm sure there is a room somewhere in Sebring.

Daytona was great. It didn't hurt having the beach so close by and the weather was almost perfect. Hopefully the weather gods will shine on us again at Sebring. We'll be doing our part x 2 to represent the 928 community. Since there will be 4 of us, we'll be driving the White S4 and the GT. I can't wait to see the 928s on the track and enjoy a few minutes of track time myself. Sorry, we'll be leaving early Sunday so no help from us in the enduro pit. Fire up the grill, George and save us some room in the cooler.

You bet! Any and all ideas are welcome regarding race "fare". Regardless, all my people will enjoy. G
