Gettin' Jiggy. Stereo install pics. Part 1.
Dry fit of the 15" sub and amps. MDF baffle will be replaced with Fiberglass in spring when I get the shark painted. Baffle will match exterior color. Fully functional "Dry fit" for now. I may cut some carpet to fit over and expose only the sub and amp tops, hiding the wires.
Up front 7" DVD with XM Roady II over clock. XM is hard wired (No FM modulator) with an extra 1/8 mini jack hidin in the ash tray for the I-pod. Replaced door and rear speakers with 6.5" Pioneer Premier speakers + Satellite tweeters. In back the 15" DVC Visonik sub is rated for 3000W. Wired in parralel for a 2 ohm load. Large amp is bridged running 1800w into sub. Next larger amp runs 320w into each of the rear 6.5". I am adding 2 more 5.25" in the rear deck sides soon and the amp has enough juice left to run those also. The smallest amp runs the fronts @ 210w each. The system hits very hard yet is super clear. The battery compartment was lined with Dynomat spray on foam. Also used it in the tire well. Sealed all holes with silicone prior. All amps are mounted on weather stripping for isolation of rattles. Rear tools had to be removed (Rattling..) and added weather stripping to cover to stop vibration. Also upgraded to an Optima battery.
Guess I just made up all the weight I saved removing the rear muffler...and yes the 928 in my door seals have blue leds. They look much better with out the flash.
Thanks you Santa!

You must have been good this year for Santa to bring all that gear!
This isn't really my cup of tunes, but I really admire your skills. I'm no purist and plan to attempt a 'rear seat delete', but without all that hardware showing.
When I get ready to do my system (which will be MUCH simpler but still not stock) I hope I can count on you for advice/ideas. The sound insulation/dampening you mention wouldn't even have occurred to me.
3000W! That's just crazy .
