Inexpensive analog clock
The digital clock in my car went south. Rather than installing the rather pricey relacement offered hereabouts, I found the one shown in the pic here: www.spotons.com. Cost: $11.90 including postage.

Bob,
Can you see it at nighttime?
Great idea.

Wonder if an analogue clock can be modded with a translucent face to allow the
LCD backlight to shine through.
Unless one can make frosted acrylic needles for the clock and somehow get the backlight to shine through the mechanism and cast some light to the needles.
The minimally invasive approach.
Used some of the orange generic glue/adhesive remover and that got the old velcro off the GTS rear panel very nicely without harming the paint. Should work with the stick-on clock adhesive.
Ernest (NYC) Don't really look down at the clock except before I start or after I get there.

Roger: It's not lighted, so there's nothing at night.
Hughett: it's just a simple stick-on pad and peels right off. My factory panel had no digital clock innards behind it. So this stick-on just occupies the space over the rectangular window.
Incidentally, I forgot to say I got this on eBay. The website I cited is not operational. The clock comes with a 3-year replaceable battery.

We offer a circular clock upgrade for all 928s from 83 onwards.
Below are the six currently available clock styles, and some installation examples. Each clock comes with a trim piece in the material of choice - this can be authentic or synthetic wood, carbon, or any type of compoite.
Cost is $159 for the clock and the trim piece, including installation instructions.
I'll be happy to help anyone find the right solution for his or her car.

With a watch, cell phone, a radio display..and pretty damn good internal sense of time the last thing I need is a clock in the car!
The only reason i like it is it displays 24hr time.
The round ones above look like they dont fit?
each their own but IMHO Porsche did a great job on the asthetics on the inside of the car. Simple, no nonsense..white on black numbers..orange needles. Not busy.
No offense to whomever is the owner of the pictured interior above but its way too busy!...stick somehting here, change a color there, change a texture here.

Nicoles look awesome and match the luxury aspect of the 928, but $150 for a new clock could also be $150 for a new cross brase or plug wires etc.. IMO.

I was in my buddy's '94 Infinity Q45 a few weeks ago and noticed that they have a very nice analog clock that could fit into the 928. There is one on ebay right now, here's th link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/infin...spagenameZWDVW
Might worth for someone to give it a try.
