Santa Gets Just Desserts, Grendl's vengeance
The stocking was hung from the spoiler with care,
With due regard for the mirth in the air.
A long day spent quieting the wanna-be spouse,
the property was all quiet, even the mouse.
When up came a glorious roar of disdain,
and the cries of poor Santa, writhing in pain!
For Grendl my fair Austrian 'eight,
Woke with hunger and thirst too deep to sate!
Off to the side the stocking lay strewn,
spilling o'er piles of coal all rough-hewn.
Santa's faint mumble "infernal device",
saying something circumspect 'bout naughty and nice.
No extruded intake, no supercharger to be found,
her powerplant revved up making an awful sound.
The air was rent, reindeer cowering in pee,
Santa succombed to the monster, woe is he.
Tucked away for the season now, power unenhanced,
more's the pity for poor Santa, laying all necromanced.

Know we all the Christ-child is the reason
For this glitteriing, gift-bestrewn Season.
Trip we through each day, learning, by living,
This high-holy day is naught for getting but giving.
So Santa his rounds to keep, though manced and minced,
Arose, akimbo, dazed, soot-grimed but clear ey-ed.
His dripping reindeer, hastened not to harness,
Rudolph's (feeble) dim rosy nose (by Lucas),
All needed strength, encouragment, and cheer.
So Santa gave'em all his size elevens in their quarter panels, rear.

Hey SMT
How did you finish your spider? I just bought a spare euro spider for my cab an am in the process of cleaning it up. Yours looks like you polished the whole thing and then did a clear powder coat. If that is the case how did you do the polishing down around the mounting flanges? I had planned to polish the whole thing, but as I am looking at all the nooks and crannies underneath I am starting to think about just cleaning the top side and powder coating the whole thing silver. There's probably a thread about this somewhere....
Thanks

spider polish
I did it the easy way-- and subbed out.
used to be an enthusiast, Dave Schaeffer, had a side business doing powder coating and polishing of 928 parts, 928metalworks. It is just a careful polish, no clear coat. Not as lustrous as it was at first, due to my own lack of attention to it. I think there was a concern about offgassing from the magnesium allow that led some to think clearcoating wasn't the best way to go. I have come across a product listed a few vendors claiming to seal the surface once its polished....I can't recall the name of it. I think Eastwood Co and Summit offer it- its very costly for a DIY surface treatment...Glim...Schnoop...I can't remember. Anyway, that might be another alternative to clear coat.
