I'll post some pics of everything as well as some before, during and after shots. I hope to spend some time on it tomorrow and Tuesday. I really think that part of the fun is actually polishing so having something less powerful that you can use more frequently as safely is my preference. Oh and don't think a Sears RO comes even close to the PC 7424, two completely different animals.

I bought a bunch of Optimum products......I talked to the owner of the company & told him what buffer I had (GEM 14lb) & how I wanted to fix the spider webbing and micro scratches....he recommended some products and different bonnets (terry cloth vs microfiber)....to get the results I wanted without buying a new buffer! I'll try it next week!!

A new timing belt. And this time I fitted it before the old one failed - that definitely seems a much better plan.

My wife got me a set of mechanic covers, and a GPS.

I didn't even have to ask?? How great is that?

Mmmmmmm GPS, once you start using them you wondered how you functioned without them. It's like a whole new world opens up when you get a GPS. Michael, I'm thinking of driving Harpers Ferry in the next few days, have any time to join me?

Brian,

Look for a post shortly, did some buffing today. Oh and spiderwebbing will definitely come out with a RO, it's the deep scratches and the factory orange peel which is hard to fix.

Default Accessory receptacles installed

Spent part of the Xmas day installing this three accessory auxilary plug do-hooky from Schucks.

It cost around $12, and was an easy install. It is velcroed to the parcel tray. It came stock with a lighter adapter which I cut off. Put an O-loop terminal on the ground and grounded it to the inboard parcel tray mount. Put a female spade receptacle on the power side and plugged it into my six terminal auxilary fuse panel under the parcel tray. I can remove it in less than a minute if need be. The cool part is now I can run and/or charge all my stuff at once, instead of deciding whether my phone, ipod, or computer will die first. It has an on/off switch (visible on the left) which has a light up LED when its on. Pretty cool.
