There are in fact 3 versions of the resistor pack none of them are directly compatible - all can be adapted to any model:

77-88 5 blower speeds: 0,1,2,3,4 (4 bypasses Rx pack) Thermal bypass to speed 4

89-93 5 blower Speeds: 0,1,2,3,4 (4 bypasses Rx pack) Thermal cut out switch (0-3), changed pin-out/loom

94-95 4 blower speeds (speed 0 is off) 1,2,3,4 (4 bypasses Rx pack) No thermal device, changed pin-out/loom

in 94-95 the resistor pack is not in the plenum (plenum redesigned for pollen filter) it is instead mounted where the intensive washer tank used to be.

What I do is remove the three bolts that hold the blower and move it out of the way (not remove the blower, just move.) It takes less time this way than the "fishing" method and results in enough room that I can get my short stubby arms into the plenum.

Also, at that point, it's a lot easier to clean the evaporator.
