Default 18 inch to 17 inch wheels????

I have 18 inch wheels on my 928 S4. I am going to 17 inch wheels.

Will I need a spacer for the rear? The wells and tires now are 295/30/18 rear.

They are both Porsche wheels sets. I just can't stand the 18 inch wheels.

Should I be able to simply plug and play with the 17 inch wheels or should I look for lots of problems getting them to fit. The 17 rears are 9 inch wide I believe.

Thanks,

Paul G.

I am thinking of buying new wheels for my S 4, Why do you not like the 18 inch wheels?

Whats wrong with the 18"?
The sizes look OK but its the offset that matters.
Front should be 65MM and the rear 52.3mm.
Yours should fit OK but they are not optimal.

IIRC you had some nice and wide rears on that car 11J I think.
9s are going to look pretty small after those.

Paul-
They should fit, but the rears are going to be inboard by quite a bit, so you might want a about a 25mm (+/-) spacer to fill out the rears. The front offset is less than optimal - 55mm or higher is usually recommended - but these will work. The 205 tires on the front are going to look really skinny - and the 255/35 tires on the back will throw you speedometer off a bit. 255/40 is a more compatible size.

What are your current wheels? I might be interested in buying them. PM me.

They are Turbo hollow spokes with nice tires if they are the ones "Loaded" put on the car.
9J Front and 11J rears. Straight from Boardwalk Porsche as takeoffs.
Paul correct me if I got thsi wrong.

Hmm, on my 928 S2 85 Euro when I moved to a 17" setup I used the following tyre sizes:

Front: 7.5J ET65 225/50 17
Rear: 9J ET55 255/40 17

Wheels are original equipment Cup 1s and the tyres and wheels fit great with no spacers.

Are you going to be selling the 18" wheels?
Thanks
Hans
